Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Update And Release Date

Call of Duty Warzone 2 will likely release around March 2023, or around the spring or summer of 2023. The first Warzone launched in March 2020 and has done very well, so Activision will likely want to try to repeat its success with the sequel. A Call Of Duty: Warzone 2 release has seemingly been leaked by none other than Jason Schreier of Bloomberg.

Apart from the confirmation of a “new iteration of Call of Duty Warzone” with a focus on current-gen and PC according to other insiders it and the mainline Call of Duty 2022 and 2023 games may be coming to PlayStation, too, but after that, the series could become Xbox exclusive as GameRevolution previously predicted. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will not be an Xbox exclusive and will be on PlayStation, too, despite the recent news about Activision Blizzard being bought by Microsoft. Warzone 2 will likely be a current-gen system-only game, however, so will only be available for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC not PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch. This is according to a report by Jason Schreier at Bloomberg, who apparently spoke with four people “with knowledge of the [Microsoft] deal” and confirmed that the next three Call of Duty games would not be Xbox exclusives. That means Call of Duty 2022, 2023, and Warzone 2, which is also expected to launch next year, will all come to PlayStation. After 2023, however, “plans are hazier for the Call of Duty games,” so Call of Duty 2024 and further iterations of Warzone could go Xbox exclusive. Microsoft may not confirm what it is doing with the franchise, or other major Activision Blizzard games such as Overwatch 2, until the deal goes down next year.As for Warzone 2, insider Tom Henderson suggests that it will be a current-gen game that is completely separate from the first Warzone, so nothing will carry over. Given everything players have unlocked in Warzone so far, hopefully this won’t be the case.
