Live-Action HALO TV Series Release Dates

After massive anticipation from fans of the franchise, the Halo live-action series over on Paramount+ has finally unveiled its first trailer. Featured above, the fresh footage offers fans a glimpse at Master Chief in his signature Mjolnir armor as well as his fellow Spartan colleagues in a futuristic sci-fi world, riding into battle on their Pelican dropships. The whole clip runs under the narration of Dr. Halsey, who recognizes John-117’s specialness and ability to bring hope to humanity in the face of darkness.

Master Chief himself will be portrayed by 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi actor Pablo Schreiber, joined by Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey and the original voice actress Jen Taylor as her iconic Cortana role. Other cast members include Olive Gray, Danny Sapani, and Karl Johnson. There’s currently no official release date yet for Halo, but the live-action series will stream exclusively on Paramount+ sometime in 2022.

When is the Halo TV series release date?

Showtime had originally said that the show was expected in the first quarter of 2021. Like many things in 2020, production on Showtime's Halo TV series was set back by the Covid-19 pandemic. It's now set for a Q1 2022 debut on Paramount+.

Miss Universe 2021 is Harnaaz Sandhu of India

Harnaaz Sandhu of India was named Miss Universe 2021 at the pageant’s finals night held in Eliat, Israel on Sunday, December 12 (Monday morning, December 13 in Manila). Sandhu succeeded Andrea Meza of Mexico, whose reign only lasted for seven months. Meza was crowned in May 2021 since the 2020 edition of the pageant was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. She bested 80 other candidates in the competition to be India’s third representative to win the title.

The rest of the Top 3 was ranked as follows:

1st runner-up: Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira

2nd runner-up: South Africa’s Lalela Mswane

During the final question-and-answer portion of the pageant, the candidates were asked: “What advice would you give to young women watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today?”

“Come out, speak for yourself, because you are the leader of your life,” Sandhu answered.

Sandhu is the third woman from India to snag the crown in the global tilt’s 70th edition, the second installment of the competition staged this year. A contest was held in the United States in May to make up for the 2020 pageant which was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Philippines’ candidate Beatrice Luigi Gomez, who is from Cebu City, made it to the pageant’s top 5 but failed to enter the top 3. Gomez was joined in the top 5 by Colombia’s Valeria Ayos, who was crowned Miss Earth Water in the 2018 Miss Earth pageant held in the Philippines. Gomez, a Navy reservist and model from Cebu, is the first openly gay representative from the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant.

Actress Marian Rivera was part of the all-female panel of the judges. She also joined the selection committee for the preliminary competitions, also composed entirely of women. Iris Mittenaere, the French woman who was crowned in the Miss Universe pageant held in the Philippines in January 2017, was also part of both judging groups.

The Philippines has four Miss Universe winners Gloria Diaz in 1969, Margarita Moran in 1973, Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, and Catriona Gray in 2018. Meanwhile, India’s first Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen, was crowned in 1994, when the pageant was held in the Philippines.

Virgil Abloh Died on Cancer 41

Virgil Abloh, a leading designer whose groundbreaking fusions of streetwear and high couture made him one of the most celebrated tastemakers in fashion and beyond, has died of cancer. He was 41. Abloh’s death was announced Sunday by the luxury group LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) and Abloh’s own Off-White label, which he founded in 2013. Abloh was the artistic director for Louis Vuitton’s menswear, but his ubiquitous, consumer-friendly presence in culture was wide-ranging and dynamic. Some compared him to Jeff Koons. Others hailed him as his generation’s Karl Lagerfeld. “We are all shocked after this terrible news. Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary, he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom,” Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive of LVMH, said in a statement.

A statement from Abloh’s family on the designer’s Instagram account said Abloh was diagnosed two years ago with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer in which a tumor occurs in the heart. “He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture,” the statement read. In 2018, Abloh became the first Black artistic director of men’s wear at Louis Vuitton in the French design house’s storied history. A first generation Ghanaian American whose seamstress mother taught him to sew, Abloh had no formal fashion training but had a degree in engineering and a master’s in architecture. Abloh, who grew up in Rockford, Illinois, outside of Chicago, was often referred to as a Renaissance man in the fashion world. He moonlighted as a DJ. But in a short time, he emerged as one of fashion’s most heralded designers. Abloh called himself “a maker.” He was named one of Time magazine’s most influential people in 2018. In 2009, Abloh met Kanye West now called Ye while he was working at a screen-printing store. After he and Ye interned together at the LVMH brand Fendi, Abloh was Ye’s creative director. Abloh was art director for the 2011 Ye-Jay-Z album “Watch the Throne,” for which Abloh was nominated for a Grammy. Abloh’s work with West served as a blueprint for future border-crossing collaborations that married high and low. With Nike, he partnered his Off-White label for a line of frenzy-inducing sneakers remixed with a variety of styles and Helvetica fonts. Abloh also designed furniture for IKEA, refillable bottles for Evian and Big Mac cartons for McDonald’s. His work was exhibited at the Louvre, the Gagosian and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Abloh’s death stunned the entertainment world. Actor Riz Ahmed said on Twitter that Abloh “stretched culture and changed the game.” Fashion designer Jeff Staple wrote, “You taught us all how to dream.” Pharrell Williams called Abloh “a kind, generous, thoughtful creative genius.” Abloh took what he called a “3% approach” to fashion — that a new design could be created by changing an original by 3%. Critics said Abloh was more brilliant at repackaging than creating something new. But Abloh’s style was also self-aware — quotation marks were a trademark label for him and high-minded. “Streetwear in my mind is linked to Duchamp,” Abloh told the New Yorker in 2019. “It’s this idea of the readymade. I’m talking Lower East Side, New York. It’s like hip-hop. It’s sampling. I take James Brown, I chop it up, I make a new song.” Stars lined up to be dressed by Abloh. Beyoncé, Michael B. Jordan, Kim Kardashian West, Timothée Chalamet and Serena Williams have worn his clothes. Abloh’s Off-White label, which LVMH acquired a majority stake in earlier this year, made him an arbiter of cool. But his appointment at Louis Vuitton brought Abloh to the apex of an industry he was once a scrappy outsider in — and made Abloh one of the most powerful Black executives in a historically closed fashion world. As Abloh prepared for his debut menswear show in 2018, he told GQ, “I now have a platform to change the industry.” “We’re designers, so we can start a trend, we can highlight issues, we can make a lot of people focus on something or we can cause a lot of people to focus on ourselves,” Abloh said. “I’m not interested in (the latter). I’m interested in using my platform as one of a very small group of African-American males to design a house, to sort of show people in a poetic way.” Abloh is survived by his wife Shannon Abloh and his children, Lowe and Grey.

One Piece Film: Red Movie Announced, Will Focus on Emperor Shanks

One Piece‘s next film will reportedly focus on the past of Shanks, the leader of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the Four Emperors. Shanks is an important part of the series lore as he inspired protagonist Monkey D. Luffy to become a pirate and gave him the straw hat that he now wears. While not officially announced, files on the site reveal that it is directed by Goro Taniguchi (Code Geass) and the script is written by Kuroiwa Tsutomu. Manga creator Eiichiro Oda will serve as a producer and general supervisor. It is set to release on August 6, 2022. As reported by Shonen Jump News - Unofficial, the new movie will be titled One Piece Red, and will be released in Japan on Aug. 6, 2022. The film will be supervised by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda himself and will be canon to the series' storyline. While Red Hair Shanks appears to be the main character of the new movie, Oda revealed in a statement that the film was originally born from his desire to add a new female character to the series. ""I am tired of drawing legendary old grandpas in movies! I want to draw a new little female character! That's the character I want to make now! And that's how it started," Oda said. The new movie will be directed by Goro Taniguchi, an anime industry veteran who previously worked on multiple entries of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise and Code Geass. According to Oda, Taniguchi "was the first-ever person in the world to animate Luffy." A release date outside of Japan has not yet been announced, but given One Piece's massive international popularity, it's safe to assume that the movie will be released in other territories shortly after its Japanese premiere.

Red-Haired Shanks is the chief of the Red Hair Pirate crew and is one of the Four Emperors of the New World, a title given to the four most powerful pirate captains who reside over the second half of the Grand Line. Shanks is notable for being the person who inspired series protagonist Monkey D. Luffy to become a pirate and seek out the treasure known as One Piece. The laid-back pirate captain also gave Luffy his iconic straw hat.

Oda's One Piece began its 24 year voyage in 1998, when it first premiered in the pages of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. The pirate epic has since become the best-selling manga series of all time, with almost half-a-billion copies in circulation worldwide. The series has experienced a number of landmark achievements in 2021: the manga published both its 1000th chapter and its 100th collected volume earlier this year. The anime series, which originally debuted in 1999, will soon air its highly anticipated 1000th episode on Nov. 20. Netflix also revealed the cast for its live-action reboot of the series, which is being produced by Netflix and Tomorrow Pictures, who also produced the new live-action reimagining of Cowboy Bebop. Oda will serve as the executive producer for the new show.

One Piece Film: Red isn’t officially announced, so take everything with a grain of salt until then. The website has been taken offline and is now password protected after the information leaked. An official reveal is likely coming soon. While some screenshots are floating around online, they’re actually from past anime episodes and no footage has been shown off yet.

Coming from a gamer with little to no knowledge of the League of Legends universe, I can sum the first three episodes of this show up in one word: Incredible. Quite possibly the best example of mature storytelling through the use of animation to come out of a western studio, ever. One of the best shows I've seen in quite some time. I am huge fan of animation as storytelling medium, but it often has this issue of either being aimed at children and because of it glossing over darker themes or when it's aimed at older audiences focusing on sex, cursing and grossout humour. So it was refreshing to get show aimed at older audiences so driven by storytelling and showing some of the impact that situations shown would have on characters. The animation, voice acting and music selected is also amazing. I have recommended this show to everyone I know. A must watch for me, never thought this show could bring out such an amazing cast of characters, storytelling and great acting/animations just based on what we had vaguely known through the lores prior to this masterpiece. What's better is that not only did it deliver such an amazing story but also making it so that non-lol players can enjoy it too!

So well written. Flow, character development and authenticity is spot on. You really feel the struggle within Vi, Vander and all the others in Zaun's dark alleys. As a League of Legends fan, the gitty excitement, as we are introduced to these people, and know how they end up later in their lives, is just insanely well set up. They leave enough up to all of us crazy theory crafters, so that the show gets widely debated on various forums. Absolutely brilliant arc. Keep it up RIOT.

Set in the opposed cities of Piltover and Zaun, the series follows two sisters, Vi and Powder, who live in the outskirts ghetto of Piltover and find the corpses of their parents among the wreckage caused by turmoil between the undercity’s residents and the city’s cops. The initial and unsurprising success of this project has made headlines all over the world and could very well have liberated the gaming industry from a long history of game-to-movie adaptation failures. While Arcane’s gaming-focused audience may limit its reach and keep it from obtaining viewer numbers such as those that Squid Game celebrated a few weeks ago, the success of this new show is an important milestone for both Netflix and Riot and its success could well be the detonator for other gaming collaborations.The next three episodes of Arcane will be released on Saturday, Nov. 13. The final three episodes of the season will drop the following Saturday, Nov. 20.

Netflix One Piece live-action Cast And Release Dates

Netflix has revealed five key cast members for its upcoming show based on the hugely popular manga and anime franchise One Piece.

The cast, announced Tuesday, will play characters in the Straw Hats crew, the central group of the series.

The currently announced cast stars:

    Iñaki Godoy as Luffy
    Mackenyu as Zoro
    Emily Rudd as Nami
    Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp
    Taz Skylar as Sanji

Steven Maeda serves as co-writer, showrunner, and executive producer on the “One Piece” live-action series, with Matt Owens also co-writing and executive producing. Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios executive produce along with Oda. The series is a co-production between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios, with Netflix handling physical production.
